Why I recommend Thesis
I use a theme (aka layout) called Thesis, which is famous for it’s SEO optimization and ease of use. It makes blog customization incredibly simple… you can add columns, remove columns, change the background, change the font, change the colors, all at the click of a button.
I highly recommend it.
{And if you plan to hire me to do any of your blog customization or tech support I really, really hope you consider my encouragement to purchase it…. because working with other themes after experiencing the delight of Thesis is almost painful (I’m just sayin’).}
The downside is that Thesis costs $87 (although it’s a onetime fee, no renewal charges or anything). If you don’t want to purchase Thesis, you can find free themes all over the place, and there is a free SEO plug in that people recommend. However, if you look at most of the most successful blogs, they are using Thesis.
What’s in it for you? In addition to blogging on one of the BEST THEMES POSSIBLE, if you decide to purchase Thesis using my Affiliate link I will install your header on your new blog and help you add a new (or existing) Google Followers gadget.
That’s a pretty sweet deal, wouldn’t you say?
Interested? Do you have more question? Send me an email using this contact form and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
If you need help with more the just the transfer, I am also available for hire for technical support and graphic work. Just let me know what you need and I’ll give you a quote on how much it might cost!

OK, I’m in!
terrific!
I’m already on Word Press but is Thesis really worth it if I’m not a daily blogger? Well, I blog daily in my head, whether or not I have the time to sit down and actually get something posted on my blog at the computer remains to be seen most days!
hi Jaime! Great question…
I think Thesis (and paying for hosting) is worth the investment if SEO is important to your blog, or if you would like to use your blog for a business or to earn money. If those don’t apply to your situation, then I think that wordpress.com is a fine option.
And I blog in my head all the time!
Hi Sharon,
Well I saw your post on the DIY FB page tonight and came to look at your site. as you can see I am on WP.com am going to move to .org. I am so grateful that they started the FB page (even though I am not a big FB fan) However it is how I met you tonight.
I am a professional basket weaver and Chair Caner of 20+ years. I grew up Old Order Mennonite until 26, now 50, my blog is on simple living, life of the Old Orders in Dayton VA, cooking, gardening and recipes, however it has encompassed so many things, that either I needed to split between two blogs, or get a website that could handle everything in a more organized fashion and also I want a ecommerce to sell my baskets and other art work also. I know now that I will be getting Thesis.
excellent! I love Thesis and I think you will too.
I’m in the process of writing a new eBook on how to migrate from WP.com to WP.org (I just finished writing one about the Blogger – WP.org migration). Sorry it’s not ready to help you yet! But I’ve found that with thesis, you can really make your “blog” do anything you need it to… remarkable really!
