A beautiful, wonderful day (one week later)

by Sharon on August 26, 2010

(Better late than never… sorry I dropped the ball on posting this last night. I literally, honestly, absolutely forgot what day of the week it was. If it weren’t for Jamie checking in to make sure I wasn’t dead, I think I still would be thinking it was Wednesday night. Oi.)

I have a wonderful family. My parents are awesome, my sisters are beautiful (on the inside and the outside), and I have a bunch of great brothers-in-law.

Last week we were all together, celebrating the upcoming wedding of my cousin/daughter/sister (the whole thing is complicated to explain and I haven’t gotten around to that yet. Soon though, I promise).

While they got married before his deployment, but are having the religious ceremony next month and everyone is so excited about it. Nothing quite as fun as a wedding.

Because of work and travel and life, it’s a rare thing for all of us to be in the same place at the same time… and because of work and travel and life, I’m not sure when the next time will be. So we treasured being together. It was good and fun….

and sometimes a little bit silly.

Look at all that air my dad got!

Good, True & Beautiful

What about you? Anything bring you joy this week?

Great photo! It’s so nice to take a moment to appreciate the “togetherness.” I plan to do the same with some of my college roommates this weekend when we get together for the first time forever.

Now THAT is some hang time. Your dad is so cute!! Glad you’re not, um, dead. (What a lousy understatement.)

A beautiful family! My family will try to get together this weekend for the first time in several years. I am sure I will post something about how it goes.

Thanks for hosting Just for the Joy of It. I’m not sure if I have linked up before…it seems familiar, but it’s been a while.

Fun family picture! We had a family wedding this month, too, (our niece) and the picture I posted was way more…um…stoic. :)

That is a terrific picture! Just love it!

Was down your way this past weekend visiting the Dreams Park and the shops in Cooperstown. Just love that part of the state. You are blessed to live there!
