Tomorrow we head to the mid-west for ten days of relaxation with Nature Boy’s family.
We eat, we swim, we laugh, we eat, we run, we sleep, we eat.
But we won’t be taking a shower.
You see, thirty years ago my father-in-law challenged his three sons to see who could go the longest without taking a shower in the family cottage… instead they needed to use the lake to bathe and clean up.
Thirty. Years. Ago.
Did I mention that they are a competitive bunch?
Needless to say, I’m going to spend my summer vacation in a place where it is, ahem, frowned upon to take a shower.
And while everything in my being dictates that scrubbing down in a crystal clear lake doesn’t quite qualify as “bathing,” this year, i think I’m going to try and tough it out…
I’ll be a rebel.
A rebel without a shower….
just for the JOY of it.

a good swim is as refreshing as a shower… I’m all for it – enjoy your vacay! my joy this week was my first haircut in 2 years… and losing the 2 pounds of hair…

You’ll probably be the only one who doesn’t stink. Man stink can be quite frightful!
PS. I’m holding off on the switch, I think, until there’s a workaround for the comments. I can’t afford the cost right now either. I have that trip to NYC and I’ll need every penny I can scrounge up for it.

What brought me joy this week was my little one speaking a bunch of new words out of no where. He has been quiet for a while and then last week it all came pouring out.
