Rhapsody for Moms

by Sharon on June 30, 2010

You’ll have to click here to see it if you’re reading this on email.

I saw this great twist on Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody – the Church on the Move used it as the opening for their church service on Mother’s Day.

I got a particular chuckle about the “Fettucine” refrain.

The Anglican church I go to thinks we’re being really progressive when we only read one of the Morning Prayers or we stand for communion (instead of kneeling). Can’t quite imagine how we would incorporate this skit into our old fashioned liturgy…. but hey, let’s give a big shout out for the Book of Common Prayer too!

I love creative and humorous talents like this… So I’m passing it along to you, Just for the Joy of it!

Good, True & Beautiful

And what about you? What brought you JOY this week?

Sharon, what a creative bunch of people! It wouldn’t fit at our church either, but I guess it takes all kinds! Whatever the method, if it is grounded in Jesus and his love, then I think it’s OK by Him!

My sister shared that with me right after mother’s day and I thought it was so hilarious. They also did a father’s day version that wasn’t live but was pretty funny too. I emailed the link to our assistant pastor and told him we should try it for next year, but he never got back to me. Maybe they don’t want to replace the traditional three-generation mother-daughter trio action we usually have for mother’s day. ;) Seriously? I think that stage is about as big as our church sanctuary! Ha!

Thanks for sharing this. I saw the video this group did about dads and it was pretty funny. (I think it’s called Dad Life and is a parody of Thug Life.) I agree. It is awesome to see people being so creative. And for the record, I think it just makes God happy when we put Him first, however that may be!
