Did you get a Rock for Mother’s Day?

by Sharon on May 10, 2010

I did. As a matter of fact, I got a whole bunch of rocks!

Nature Boy pulled into the driveway last Saturday afternoon with his truck full of HUGE, BIG, HEAVY, BEAUTIFUL, ROCKS (just not the diamond kind).

He then spent all day Sunday, digging and grading and hauling in order to present me with a new sidewalk off our front steps.

Did I mention that it was a frigid, cold, yucky, rainy day with SNOW?

I sure do love this man. And he knows how to woo his lady.

(sorry for the awful pictures… it was really cold out there, and the relative warmth of our porch was just too nice to leave. Plus I didn’t want to get my camera wet – or anything else for that matter!)

Aw. What a guy. He’s set the bar pretty high for Father’s Day, huh? :)

Hi Sharon-
I heard it snowed up in your area over the weekend. My daughter is in Burlington, Vt and said she got it too. So much for May. I think your husband loves you lots to be out in the cold creating the walkway for you, while you stayed all warm and watched. You will have to post the finished sidewalk. It looks nice- I love stone walks and borders. I hope it warms up soon, so you can enjoy May, outside!

Nope, didn’t get rocks but I did get mulch! And a hubby who worked tirelessly on Sunday to completely weed and plant one of my gardens :) It’s so nice to have wonderful hubbies who give us great presents of their time!

This cracked me up. I love how you were joking at “rocks” and wooing his lady. Ya know, though, sometimes gifts like that are all a women really wants to be happy!
