One of my favorite parts of the week is the two hours I spend on Wednesday morning.
That’s when a wonderful group of moms women gather together at a local church for good food and good hugs, lots of laughter, wonderful conversation, heart felt praying, and the occasional tear jerker.
(I realize that the men who read this blog (both of you) might think it’s weird that one of the highlights of my week includes crying… but it’s true. Crying is good for the soul.)
This morning we were talking about a chapter in Titus in which we are encouraged to seek out the wisdom of other women.
Older women, Wiser women… Women who have modeled the way and have run a good race who can offer wise counsel and a voice of experience – in being a good mom, in being a loving wife, in being a faithful child of God.
And as I thought about this, I couldn’t help but reflect on all the wonderful women that God has brought into my life..
I thought of my incredible mom and my wonderful mother-in-law.
I thought of my talented sisters (all three of them!).
I thought of my dear friends in California, and New Jersey, and New Orleans, and here in Cooperstown.
And I also thought of this neat group of internets – My wonderful friends who I’ve never even met! And I delighted in the spirit of encouragement and support that pops up here as we share our joys with each other.
Ya know what? It warms the cockles of my heart.
So this week, I have to say thank YOU.
To all the women who I am honored to call my friends, who teach me, and laugh with me, and learn with me. I really appreciate you guys…. you bring me JOY!

And what about you? What brought you JOY this week? Tell us about it! And then go visit some new friends and leave them a comment so they know you stopped by for a visit. JOY is contagious you know!

I so need to get my act together and join you on the Just for the Joy of It…I love that idea…but I seem to be running a little slow in my learning curve.
Your post is precious! What a wonderful blessing to have such a great group. God is so faithful to meet us where we are in whatever form He wants to use
Enjoyed, as always,
Janette
I adore the word “cockles.” I love hanging out with Christian women – especially older ones who have walked my road and can remind me – God will not forsake you at any point of your life.

Second one from the left, right?
I love this post! I just posted about a good kind of cry on Tuesday. We need a tear-jerker every once in a while.
Where would we women be without each other? What a very lovely tribute to the women in your life. Isn’t it such a blessing to be able to develop relationships with women who you’ve never even “met”? I’m so glad I got to meet you!
LOVE LOVE THIS post! Thank you
Friendship is amazing.
This is a wonderful post and reminder to esteem the women in our lives. I love that you shared a Word-centered post. yay!

I am glad you had a great time with your friends Sharon! There’s nothing like having good fellowship!
“Older women are to teach younger women” Titus 2:1-5. In our church, the Titus Tea is where we women get together to learn and to share. I love that ministry! I pray that one day the Lord would allow me to share and to teach the younger generation (my daughter’s generation) with His guidance and His wisdom.
Thank-you for making me smile!

Oh Sharon, it’s so funny how even though I’m one of those friends you’ve never met (if I may call myself a friend!), I so feel as though we are often on the same wavelength. I was just thinking about you this morning and wondering how you were doing. I’m a ton behind on my emails (9,543 unread emails to be exact!) and haven’t been able to read what’s going on with you lately. When I plopped down for lunch I was able to get in a quick read, and I’m glad I did.
I just wanted to let you know how much you inspire me. You are an amazing woman whose light shines so brightly for the Lord. Although I know you’d never guess it, you are a Titus woman to me! I love seeing how the Lord is the center of your life and how that so naturally flows into your interaction with Little Man and his life. I pray that I will do the same with my little Boo.
Thank you thank you thank you for being YOU!

WOW! thanks Kristina. I’m really blessed (and humbled) by your words.
Sometimes I feel like I’m the WORST example of a light shining brightly for the Lord… so if you are seeing anything other than dirty rags, it’s only because of HIS Grace!
And I have a sneaky suspicioun you’re doing a pretty awesome job showing your Little Boo the love of God… it’s a wonderful privilege, isn’t it?
Beautiful post!!

I travel a lot these days because of my husband’s job, and one the things I miss the most is the fellowship of like-minded Christian women. I see my friends when I can when I’m home, but I really miss the involvement that I used to have in women’s ministry. Glad to hear that you have such a wonderful group of ladies to share with!
