If you have any interest in Photography or Photo Editing, and you haven’t visited I ♥ Faces yet, you’re missing out. It’s a wonderful place to learn and explore!
Here is the picture they offered for Friday Fix It…

And here is my first edit…

I did the following…
- Contrast, Levels and Curves
- Pioneer Woman’s Boost at 20% opacity
- Rita’s Coffee Shop Powder Room action, using most the smooth skin layer at 25% opacity
- I played around with the eyes to try and make them pop more… I played with the Burn/Dodge until I got something that seemed acceptable. I learned a lot from Coffee with Morgan, but I can’t say I’m and expert yet!
And then based on the good input from my buddy Daquiri, I went back and played with the eyes some more… thanks friend!!

And then I did a B&W version (’cause I just love a great B&W picture!)

What do you think? Any area I could improve? I’m thick skinned… I can take it!

Personally, I love, love, LOVE, the B&W!
I agree…! I’m a total sucker for B&W!
I think both of your fixes are great!

Great job! This was a fun edit, wasn’t it? Okay, my think skinned friend…if anything, I’d say to work on the eyes a tad more. Can you get them to sparkle? For me, it’s always about the eyes

Thank YOU! Bring it on… I took your advice and posted a new version. I like it much better!
You did a great job! I cannot wait to have time to play with photos. I too love the black and white, BUT that pink is FAB!

Thanks Lynn! I think the pink is great too. What a cutie!
I just installed your skinny header on the test blog… check it out if you get the chance!
Really, I just don’t see how you could fix it anymore. My favorite…like yours is the black and white version.

Love the sparkly new eyes
I tinkered with bw in my edit, but abandoned it. I just love this little sweetie in color too much!

Hey Sharon. I just wanted to check in. Love the photo edits. I have got to learn how to do all that editing. I have been offline the much of the last two weeks while getting moved and unpacked. I am missing my online friends. So I just wanted to stop by and say hello.
What photo editing software do you use??? i have been searching for a good one…or least one that just does B&W and red eye erasing….with no luck!
Hi Stephanie! I use PhotoShop CS3, which I would highly recommend if you are serious about photo editing… but it’s a pretty intense learning curve. If you are looking for something that is really user friendly and can do simple B&W, red eye, cropping, etc. I would suggest Picasa. It’s free software from Google that you can download onto your computer. It’s where I started, and I think it’s a great tool.
i thought i had tried picasa before and not liked it but i just downloaded it again and am having a BLAST!
THANKS! love your blog and your pics!
