15 years ago by Melanie and Malcolm Rands were faced with a challenge.

They were living in a small, eco-friendly village in New Zealand where each household was responsible for their own waste water. Unfortunately, the use of the “regular” supermarket cleaning products (which rely heavily on cheap, petroleum-based, synthetic ingredients) were creating a contamination issue in the water supply.

Eager to find a solution, Malcolm began to research household cleaning products that used plant-based ingredients that would biodegrade safely and quickly. And from his research EcoStore was born!

I used EcoStore’s diaper cream with a great deal of success (it works on chapped hands too!).

And their household cleaning products are superb — laundry whitening, toilet bowl cleaning… it all works really well, certainly as well as anything the grocery store sells. Plus, you gain the added benefit of knowing that the ingredients are completely organic and plant based. That’s a nice upside!

I was also impressed by the packaging of the products – in an effort to be budget sensitive, EcoStore’s products are super concentrated. That keeps the packaging smaller, but a little goes a long, long way!
