Auto-B-Good!

Auto-B-Good is a five time Emmy Award winning series of Children’s DVDs that can be seen on public television and all around the world.   The characters are the automotive residents of the city of Auto, nine vehicles, each with their own unique personality.  Each episode is centered around the development of a different character trait, such as honesty, respect, caring, and fairness.

I’m always amazed at cartoon graphics and when, through my partnership with MamaBuzz, I was offered the chance to review this DVD I was excited to introduce it to the Little Guy.   I received a DVD called “In the Land of Odds” which had three episodes focusing on Dependability, Responsibility, and Goodwill (plus two bonus tracks talking about Consideration and Obedience).  If you would like to see a glimpse of it, Check it out on YouTube.

Last week, we took an afternoon break and sat down to watch the DVD.  This was a first for him, since we don’t have TV and haven’t shown him many videos.  So this was our maiden television voyage!

How did it go?  Truth be told, I think the Little Man was a little young for it.  He watched for about five minutes and then drifted off to play with his toys.  To be fair the recommended ages were 3 -10 and since the Lil Man isn’t yet two, I should have known better.  The story lines were entertaining for me though (unfortunately at 38 I doubt I’m the target audience!).   I’ll just try again in twelve months and see what he thinks then.

For those of you with older kids there are some neat resources to compliment the DVDs which you can check out at the Official Auto-B-Good website and you can purchase a copy of the DVD at Rising Star Studios for $7.99.
