Thanks to I Heart Faces….

by Sharon on January 22, 2010

… I got a new job.

Seriously.

It’s just a little, part-time job but I’m delighted by it!  I can work from home and put in my hours during the Little Man’s nap times and early mornings  (Oh yeah, right…. I’m not good at early mornings. Late nights will be more likely!)

If you remember, started drooling over I ? Faces last spring and was SO interested in learning about the incredible magic that was Photo Editing.  So I saved my pennies, downloaded two of the free PhotoShop trials (Elements and CS4), and finally bought PhotoShop CS3 last August.

The learning curve is steep, and I still have a LOT to master, but it’s starting to pay off!

Last month a local photographer approached me about helping her with some editing.  And after a few meetings and some (nerve racking) demonstrations on what I can do, she’s hired me to help her out.

I won’t be rich anytime soon… but it should be enough to pay for groceries each month, and maybe a little bit more.  And that is exactly what I was hoping for!

So a BIG THANKS to Amy and Angie and all the terrific instructors at I ? Faces.  You’ve made a big difference in my little world!

Congrats on the new job, Sharon! That sounds like such a perfect, fun, and ideal way to make a little bit extra each month for groceries :)

Thanks for stopping by my little blog and saying hello :) I really appreciated your sweet comment! I've poked around your blog a bit and have already fallen in love with it! It's so refreshing to find a down-to-earth Christian woman offering us all a peek into her life to encourage our own journeys!

That is AWESOME!!! You do great editing work and I know you'll be great at your job!

I hope to enter a new venture myself. Next year this time I would like to be photographing newborns for a business and also photographing stillborns as a ministry. I lost a baby and her pictures were not what they could have been. I want to volunteer to take stillborn pictures so the grieving parents have more to remember.

Anyway, congratulations!!
