Once a year Nature Boy and I leave the world behind.
We return to a place where we can talk, and play, and laugh.
The place that we fell in love.
A place that makes me fall in love all over again.
Ice skating with a guy from Wisconsin - I highly recommend it.
(I think these Sconnie Boys are out on the ice before they learn to walk!)
Holding hands for two hours with the man of your dreams – it doesn’t get any better.
It’s amazing what you talk about when you have two hours to go around in circles (the literal kind).
We dream, we plan, we hope, we tease…
My heart is full.
And I laugh.
Just for the JOY of it.
{this date was our Christmas present to each other — a day pass to the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY. We’ve gone every year since 2002. We love it there!}

Okay folks, now it’s YOUR turn! Lets spread some JOY!
If you have a blog, add a link to the “MckLinky” application below… (please be sure to link to the post, not to your home page).

That is an incredibly wonderful way to spend the day. Hubby and I do not get to do that often. But spending any bit of time alone with him is always a joy. As are my children.
Oh and we are outside Syracuse.
Aw, sounds like a wonderful time!
Oh, those pictures are so sweet! It looks so romantic. I wish I could talk my hubby into taking me there when we're in New York. Not gonna happen though.
Oh how fun! I'm no ice skater but you sure make it look like fun. Glad you were able to get away with your hubby for a bit.
Awwwe, that's so sweet! How fun!
What a romantic getaway! You guys look blissfully happy
Thanks for sharing
Getting away with your sweetheart…nothing better! I highly recommend it everyone….make it happen, put it on the calendar, let the excitement build, focus only on each other for the time you are away!!!
Ahhhhh, I think I am inspired to get a date night scheduled!!!!
Thanks for stopping by my site… I appreciate it!
It's funny you posted about a getaway with hubby. I have been trying to find a weekend getaway spot for HeMan Hubby and myself, but without a clear destination it's pretty hard to book a hotel! LOL! I will find somewhere we can go to reconnect and spend time just being a couple again. Life gets in the way- as do the 6 kids, our jobs and all those annoying things like bills, and community comittments… but I am a woman on a mission!
I knew I recognized that porch! I have only been in Mohunk in the fall, and it was stunning, amazing fall color, but the ice skating looks great!
Please stop by my blog on Sunday for my first ever mcklinky party, it should be fun and hope to see you there! http://www.creativejewishmom.com
this is fun,my goal this year is to find more joy out of life and started doing similar posts to kick off the new year so I will have to join in
How fun and sweet! Looks like you were thoroughly enjoying yourselves. This post is quite coincidental because on my list of things to do today is look into ice skating lessons for my Faith. She's been asking me to check into it for quite some time now and I told her I would do it today. Then, before I get started on my task, there's your blog post with you and your hubbie skating.
Peace.
Jeanine
Sharon, you guys look so happy in the photos! There's nothing like being married to your best friend. I am glad to see you in the pictures as well. I know we don't have a lot of pictures of ourselves with our family (on or off blog) because we are always the one who is taking the pictures.
Keep making those sweet memories!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I love this post. My marriage is very important to me. We try to have alone time at least once a year for a long weekend. It does a marriage good!
What a great post.
Look how cute you guys are! What a wonderful Christmas present for you both. It's so nice to just take a day by yourselves and revel in each other.
PS What are ice skates? I've never seen the likes of them in AZ before.
What a wonderful tradition to share. The pics make it all look like so much fun.
Looks like a wonderful time! Love the pictures!
Wonderfully HAPPY pictures! You make a great couple.
Thanks for the inspiring post…
Hey Sharon! Just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my place today. Love your blog! I'll be back.
What a neat moment to share with us. That is so great that you guys do that together.
Looks heavenly! What a fabulous idea.
What a wonderful idea! You guys look so cute and you are so smart to nurture your relationship like that.
Sharon, I'm so impressed at the skating skills. That you could talk AND skate at the same time boggles my poor little mind. Lovely, lovely pictures (especially the one of you laughing…ahhhh….)
I want to know who took the photos! Did you hand off your camera to a random stranger and have him follow you around? And they ARE really cute photos btw.
What a sweet, sweet post. I hope to find a love as deep as yours. I love the photos.
Aww that is a sweet post! I wrote about ice skating back in November on my blog, it brings back a lot of memories!
