WOW! Friday

by Sharon on December 11, 2009

Just when I thought I was getting better at PhotoShop the great ladies at I ? Faces throw this challenging picture at us…

 …and I once again realize -  I am very much a newbie!

My biggest challenge was to figure out how to emphasize the drama of the face without losing all of the wonderful story…

I tried this…

I tried this…

But ultimately I settled on this…

What do you think -  version 1, 2 or 3?

Any tips on what I could have done better?

(if you want to find some GREAT and FREE resources for Photo Shop, you should definitely visit Rita at Coffee Shop.  She has wonderful tutorials and actions to download – I use her stuff all the time!)

I really like the first version. The color looks great and you kept the action of the shot. Great job!

it looks like we had a similar take with your first version. i prefer the cropped in versions and the contrast you've added to the dirt flying everywhere really brings out the drama!

I like #1 the best but they are all better than anything I could do.

I'm all about closeups…probably because I'm not very good at shooting them! So, I opt for #2…that guy's expression is priceless. Listen, I also wanted to thank you soooooooo much for stopping by on my Special SITS Day. It’s taken me a while to get back, but I hope to see you around the blogosphere again soon!

The last one is my favorite! I love that you can see the determination in his face in your crop, but I think the dirt flying does EVERYTHING for this p hot!
