I have some hands down favorite music that I listen to all Christmas season… it’s like welcoming home some long lost friends each December.
What would I do without George Winston’s December as I decorate the house?
And really, I’m not sure if I could do any holiday baking if I didn’t have Max Lucado’s Cantata God Came Near rising to the heavens.
This live recording of Max Lucado’s Cantata never grows old for me… the Truth just gets better and better each year!
Add my name to the list of adoring fans of Chanticleer…
There is a reason that this is one of the most famous choral groups in the world. Man, can these guys sing! {their version of Riu Riu Chiu is habit forming}
And my newest addition is the incredible Josh Groban and his Christmas album Noel.
I think this is what the heavenly host sounds like!
What about you? What’s on your list? What songs or albums make Christmas special at your house?

Hey Babe…
"Noel: Christmas at Kings" performed by King's College Choir; some great, earthy songs by Peter Seeger in "Traditional Christmas Carols"; and a wonderful compilation recently sent by a friend: "An American Christmas" with the Boston Camerata…
Really good stuff.
Great question.
I love Michael Card's "The Promise" Album. The words are true and so worshipful. You either love his style or not. I love it, my husband doesn't.
And of course there is the Trans-Siberian Orchestra "Christmas Eve" and "The Lost Christmas Eve" They play with such passion – the melodies may seem to scream out to you because it is an electric guitar – but "O Come All Ye Faithful/O Holy Night", screams out to my heart and makes me cry every time I hear it.
Sorry One more – not sure if it is available anymore – but Haven of Rest (used to have a Christian Radio Show) sings "Who is He in Yonder Stall" in such an amazing way! Just love it!
I love George Winston's December.
Josh Groban {sigh}. Still waiting for that cd. I get one new cd every year and this year it was Focus on the Family Presents Sounds of Christmas (I think). It's all Christ-centered Christmas carols played by an orchestra. All instrumental and it's so peaceful. It always puts me in a mood to reflect why and who we are celebrating this Christmas. Definitely worth the $5 I paid.
