If you are looking for a fun game that challenges young minds and little fingers, check out My First Brain Box. It’s a terrific twist on the memory game “stare” but with so much more!
As part of MamaBuzz, I received a review copy of My First BrainBox from Timberdoodle. It’s a delightful card game that is perfect for family game night or when you have a group of kids over to visit (this would be a great gift for homeschoolers)
I took the BrainBox for a test drive last week with some young friends who came over to visit and they really enjoyed it… Even the mommies got into the action!
Here’s how it works…
Players have 10 seconds to study a game card and try to remember a variety of features. They then roll a die and answer a corresponding question – if they get the right answer they keep the card. At the end of the game, the player with the most cards wins!
(No batteries required — just brain cells).
I thought it was terrific to see how the kid’s were challenged to use both their short and long term memory when asked to recall what they saw. And the game is teaching kids useful facts while they play!
Isn’t it great when fun games also happen to be good for your brain!?
In addition to the My First BrainBox (which is created for pre-readers) there are topical BrainBoxes for the older kiddos… you can buy one that focuses on the World, the United States, the US Presidents, or Animals. Just pick the one your kids would enjoy the most!
Big thanks to Timberdoodle for sending this one my way – two thumbs up from the Nature Family! And I’ll be excited to check out more of your hands on games!
