Here is a tip I can recommend for gift wrapping in a beautiful, thoughtful way without breaking the bank.
It all comes down to one key ingredient….
This roll of Postal Wrapping Paper has 75 feet of brown paper and cost me less than $5 at Walmart (I’m pretty confident that this deal will ALWAYS beat the cost per foot of fancy wrapping paper).
Now before you start groaning or thinking something mundane like this….
…let me remind you of all those greens we decorated with on Monday?! They are back for a repeat performance!
Simple little sprigs of greens tied on with cotton string, take a mundane package into a beautiful, three-dimensional treasure.
Or, if greens aren’t your thing, you could follow this easy tutorial and make your own bow… then add it on to the corner for a splash of color!
And wouldn’t you know, I’ve even used an unmarked grocery bag to wrap some presents that are an “awkward size”…!
How simple is this?
The present goes into the bag along with some tissue paper (purchased at deep discount at Walmart last January), and I neatly folded down the top.
Then I carefully punched a small hole with a kitchen knife, and pushed the sprig of greens straight through.
Pretty as a picture! And I didn’t even need to use tape to close it up. (Now that’s frugal!)
And gift tags? Why would you need gift tags?
The brown paper packaging is easy to write on — I use a nice pen or marker to leave a note for my loved one!
Huge savings, beautiful product?
That works for me!
Be sure to check back on Thursday for a great and crafty treat…. I don’t even believe it myself!

I love the simplicity of brown paper wrapping. Those packages look great!
what a great idea — I already have some of that brown paper wrapping so I should be good to go!!
I love the way it looks! Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
We've used brown paper before and I let my kids use red and green paint to decorate it. It was a hit with everyone! The grandmas couldn't bear to throw out their wrapping paper art work and I was happy with the price.
I love the way it looks plain with raffia bows tied on it. I'll have to try it with the pine sprigs. Great idea.
Do I hear Julie Andrews in the background?
Not only a good idea, but your photos are great! I love pic #6, how the sun is coming through the window. Thanks for sharing your frugal tip!
You are seriously crafty!
I use brown paper for wrapping my gifts too. I love that it is all-occasion and gender-neutral.
Stamps work great on brown paper too! I like!
Love it! We must think alike! I too have a post scheduled for Sunday about decorating brown wrapping paper. I will have to put a link to this one too, you have such wonderful ideas!
I like it with nice ribbon tied on top.
I've always wondered about a cheap source for brown kraft paper–thanks for the tip!
What a great, frugal, beautiful idea!
