30 Days of Giving

by Sharon on November 1, 2009

Alyssa at Keeping the Kingdom First has a wonderful challenge for the month of November.

She has invited us to “take a leap of faith and give (in some fashion) every day this month.”

What a perfect challenge to enter into a season of thanks.

And I wondered…

Can I do that?   I can I give away something to someone every day for the next thirty days?

Can I be a blessing in someone else’s life by being generous?

Can I glorify God by using the talents he gave me?

what do I have that might be a blessing to others???

And here is what I came up with…

I could make you a new button or header

(Disclosure: I’m no expert, but I can do some basics like what you see on this blog)
If you’re interested, leave a comment below and I’ll be in touch
(I’ll cap it at thirty).

UPDATE, Tuesday, Nov 17:  I have 30!

I’m sorry!  I have heard from thirty people and will be working on their requests.

I would be glad to help you design a button or header for your blog,
but the freebies have been taken up.

If you are still interested, I am available for hire…

I charge $5 for a button
and $12 for a header  (or get both for $15).

If you are interested, send me an email using the button in my sidebar.

Sharon, this is such a great idea! Absolutely love it. What a great way to give. :) I'm not in need of a button or header, but I know this will be a blessing to others.

Sharon, I did this last year and it was so life changing for me! I absolutely loved it. Some days were hard, some were easy, but each was eye opening. I challenge you to not only do things for people you know, but to also do things for perfect strangers that you meet. It's amazing what blessings GIVING bring to your life as well.
Here is a link to my posts from then: http://www.sowonderfulsomarvelous.com/search/label/29%20Gifts%20Challenge
I can't wait to read your journey! Can you tell I'm a little passionate about it? :-)

What an awesome way to give! I'm so excited about doing this challenge! I've been wanting a new header for my blog, but have no idea how to do it. http://www.joyfuladorations.blogspot.com

Hi Sharon,
Great post–I've seen a few people mention this giving challenge–I think it's an awesome thing to focus on this month! I'm going to give it a try as well.

Rather than have you make a button/graphic for me, I would love to get some tips or ideas on how to actually do it. I made my own button a while ago using my daughter's artwork and a basic art program (might have been Picasa), and I am not happy with it. But I'd love to me able to make a better one on my own. Just a thought. . .thanks!

Sharon,
You are so generous! I just published a post on this very topic. I haven't read the blog you mention, but I will be checking it out.

I'm inspired by your generosity!

I love this idea! Not only do I love it because I would be the beneficiary (hee, hee) but I love it because you're using your skills to bless someone else. How often do we tell ourselves we have nothing to give, when all it takes is using your abilities (like baking or sewing) to make other lives blessed?

I think I'd love to do this challenge, too. I'm willing to give it a shot, anyways.

I am going to read up on the challenge again! I am so IN NEED of a blog button and have been TRYING to figure out how 2 myself. I would be HONORED with a little help on that. I found a photo of a sunflower and was going to try to work with that this weekend. But if you know how! ;-)

What an amazingly generous offer! I have the most boring generic Blogger site in the world. I would be so incredibly excited to have a new header- I've never had anything unique or special. Thanks for the chance– I understand if you hit your cap or get too busy!

I saw the comment you posted on Money Saving Mom, and I would be thrilled with a new header (assuming I make the cut of 30). That is extremely generous of you and it would be so appreciated by a new blogger like myself!

Actually, a simple button would be just as great. My blog is pretty plain. But God has really pressed on my heart lately the need to be more honest about how I really save money… I pray: for coupons, for my menu, for sales, for God opening my eyes so I can find what I need right away, for courage to put something back, even if it's a good deal, if we don't need it. I've never talked about this in my blog though I regularly share it when I speak at women's events.

It's the good, true and beautiful about my frugality– God has taught me more about Himself through clipping coupons. I can't even begin to imagine what a button would look like for that. But if you would be willing, I'll gladly accept the blessing.

Looks like I'm unlucky number 32, but I'm still going to pop in with a hello. I've been thinking I need a button to be like all the "cool bloggers" out there. ;) If you're over your cap, I would be willing to hire your services for this task, especially if you could give me some pointers to do it myself another time. Thanks!

If you still have room, I would love to have a button for my blog!! I was just googling "how to make a button for your blog" last week, and didn't find anything that was user friendly for a non-computer person like myself. :)
