Forty Carrots

by Sharon on November 11, 2009

I spent last week indulging in one of the greatest treats a girl could have.

I had lunch with my mom and sister.

It was a perfect in every sense of the word…

Laughter, reminiscing, and girlish glee…

And it was great, not just because we were together, at noon on a Thursday (although that was really cool).

You see, we had lunch at Bloomingdales’ Forty Carrots.

And in case you don’t know it, the most famous, the most delicious, and the most sought after item on the Forty Carrots menu is their Frozen Yogurt.

Grown Men will weep, it’s so good.

“What?” you scoff.

“Pshaw!” you think.

“Whatever” you grumble.

Let me assure you it is nothing like any frozen yogurt you’ve ever had — it is a gift from the gods.

It’s not sweet, it’s tangy.

And it’s served with honey.

And wheat germ.

And strawberries…

And, oh my goodness, it is SO GOOD!

When I was child we would go to Forty Carrots for yogurt and even then I knew it was nothing short of ambrosia.

And somehow, after a twenty five year gap, it was even better than I remembered.

In fact it’s so good that my health conscious mom (who eats like a bird on a diet) order a large.

Which is just awesome ’cause we got to tease her about it for the rest of the day.

She took it like a champ

If you live anywhere near a Bloomies you should call them and see if they have a Forty Carrots cafe.

And if they say yes, round up your best girlfriends and go out for a yogurt date…. just for the JOY of it!

WARNING:  be careful to stay away from the shoe department though…  Little Guy found a pair he liked that cost $250 — and that was the SALE PRICE!!

And now it’s YOUR turn!

Is there anything you want to share, that gave you JOY this week?  The best moments, the treasured memory, the answered prayer… Share them with every body!

If you have a blog, add a link to the “MckLinky” application below… (please be sure to link to the post, not to your home page).

If you don’t have a blog, share your story in the comment section – I would love to read them!

Then you can check out some of the other links (if you’re visiting a new blog be sure to leave a comment so they know you stopped by for a visit.  It’s just good manners after all!)

What a beautiful time…with the yogurt. Looks like you had a pretty good time with your girls, too.

Sounds delicious! Today was full of joy for me. Despite being trapped inside with my rugrats, we just enjoyed each other. We played, we laughed, we bonded. I need nothing more.
