Did you notice the smoke coming out of my kitchen this morning?
No Mom, I didn’t burn anything (today at least).
I was just cooking up a storm, using my superhuman kryptonite-proof powers of multi-tasking, and running at the speed of light.
In other words, I had a long to do list, limited time, and a cranky baby.
At one point, I looked up from my chaos and I saw a chorus of recipes and appliances, all doing their thing, working in concert with one another, saving me money, and making good food for my family.
And honestly, it was pretty darn satisfying.
I had yogurt and white bread and granola and chili and french bread all humming along at once
(I think they were humming the tune of the Hallelujah Chorus, but it might have been the theme to the Peanuts. Whatever it was, it was pretty).
Of course, none of this food was hard to make, but oh, so satisfying. And while I’m not particularly good with numbers, I decide all this cooking saved my family about $1,254 (give or take $1,252).
Life is good.

Yay for you…still using that bread machine!
You are my hero today!! I want to make all of those things, and just haven't!! (mixture of procrastination and haven't done before, and "don't have the right tools")
I *WISH* I had that mixer!!
My friends and I were talking bread just yesterday!!
I used to have a bread machine. It stopped working. I came home one night expecting a fresh loaf of homemade bread and instead found all the ingredients stuck to the inside of the pan, cooked but not mixed. Oops.
i'll be coming to your house for dinner . . .
i need a granola recipe… and that awesome yellow kitchen aid!
Good for you and your family! Home cooked food is always best.
Your black bowl is seriously big.
