Well, Thank You Very Much!

A big thanks to MysticFish who gave me this little compliment yesterday…  a pat on the back, two thumbs up, and atta boy! all at the same time.  What a treat!  Thanks for that encouragement!

Now part of the recognition means that I’m supposed to share ten “honest” things about myself.  By honest, I assume they mean true, so I’ll do my best:

1. My grandfather was nominated for a Nobel Prize in Science. 
2. I have not been nominated for a Nobel Prize, but expect a call from ‘What Not to Wear’ any day.
3. My sister was selected as “Teacher of the Year” for her school district.
4. I was chosen as “Waffle Maker of the Morning” by my son.
5. My mom can play a mean accordion
6. I tried to learn how to play the cello in fourth grade – I learned that dropping the cello on the driveway is a good way to get out of practicing for the rest of the summer vacation.
7. My best friend from college played on the US Women’s National Rugby team for six years
8. When I went to watch her rugby game, I brought my knitting.
9. My husband completed a Half Iron-Man Triathlon in Sun River, Oregon.
10. I have completed one sprint triathlon.  I came in last and the people clapped as I crossed the finish line.  It was one of the proudest moments of my life.

1. Kaley – who is celebrating a new house, new job, and a CVS right around the corner
2. Erin – who has more creativity in her little finger than I do in my whole toe (or something like that)
3. Daiquiri – who needs to move East so I can share an ice cream cone with her
4. Debbie – who makes me laugh
5. Laurel – who is courageous and faithful and brave
6. Amanda – who knows a thing or ten about blogging
7. WhisperingWriter – who left the last comment on my blog

PS — I was a runner up in Kristin’s contest on We are THAT family, one of my, hands down, favorite blogs.  I want to be her when I grow up (minus the trips to the ER).  And while I didn’t win, but it was fun to see my name in lights…  Or, at least see my name in type that was linked to my corner of the blogosphere!
