Two Minutes to Save

Are you planning a vacation this year?

Do you expect to buy groceries when you’re away?

Are you willing to spend two minutes to save money?

If you said yes, then please, please, pretty please… sign up for the store’s loyalty card!

You see, I live in a tourist town.

In a tourist town we see LOTS of tourists (crazy, I know).

Those tourists buy their hotdogs, ice cream, soda and other delicious vacation foods in our local grocery stores.

I stand behind these tourists in the checkout line.

I marvel at how much money they don’t save because they don’t have the darn loyalty card.

I am not brave enough to approach a stranger who is on vacation and tell them that they could be saving a lot of money if they spent two minutes filling out a form.

I try to use mental telepathy to influence their decision.

My mental telepathy skills must be lacking, because no one is picking up on money-saving-mental-vibes.

Instead I’ll do this…

The next time you’re on vacation and the person behind you looks like she has a migraine, don’t be confused.

She is probably sending you a vital, money saving message to get a loyalty card.

Or she’s coveting your chocolate ice cream.

It’s a toss up.

(If you haven’t already done so, register your shopping cards for UPromise so that junior will have a few extra pennies to pay for college. It’s a no-brainer)

I just ask the cashier to use his/her card for me (or another person in line) so I don't have to spend an extra couple of minutes in the store. I've had other people use my in my local stores when they haven't had their's with them, too.
