Patriotic Songs (aka how to torture your friends!)

by Sharon on July 3, 2009

I am a big fan of singing.

Sound of Music?

My Fair Lady?

Music Man?

Love, Love, Love ‘em.

I think music is one of the things that makes my life abundant.

A personal highlight in my musical career was my lead role in the third grade performance of “Christmas on Cloud 29.”

I was the head Pink Angel, a pivotal role.

Plus, I had a huge crush on the boy on the right…

Can’t you just see the attraction between the two of us?

Really powerful stuff.

I don’t think I ever actually spoke to him, but our love burned strong.

But I digress…

To manifest my joy for singing, I torture my family and friends by asking everyone to do sing-a-longs when they come over.

They grin and bear it because they know I like it so much.

And I bribe them with good food.

That’s two more things that make my life abundant – food and friends.

My cup runneth over.

To encourage you to torture your friends and family, feel free to download my Patriotic Song lyrics.

And belt out some great music this weekend.

You’ll be doing me proud!

I absolutely LOVE to sing. The kids at work are always asking me "Why do you sing all the time?" LOL.

I am teaching the importance of singing loudly and often to my kids, who think it's perfectly normal for their mother to dance around the kitchen singing "Soak up the Sun" into a ladle-microphone.

You're right. Singing does make life abundant. :)

I fell in love with my husband's constant singing when we were dating. We'd dance and he'd sing. We need to do that more!

Picture of you as an angel is too precious! I just caught myself singing around the house before I sat down and read your post!

Sounds like you ladies are singers after my own heart. Why don't we plan a blogger-wide-sing-along? Erin can bring the ladle-microphones, Amy's hubby can carry the tune, and the rest of us will provide the enthusiastic, gut busting, belting of patriotic tunes….

No? Well, maybe next year!
