Lunch and Blogging Buds

by Sharon on July 6, 2009

Last week I had my first Blogging Buddy get together.

Upstate New York isn’t exactly swarming with bloggers, but there are a few of us*…

Kaley from ChaChing on a Shoestring is one terrific lady.

She planned a great day at the park. The kids could play, the moms could chat. Picnic baskets would over-flow with home made goodness.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t as accomodating. We’ve had the coldest/wettest June on record, and July didn’t want to be out done.

Our back up plan was a McDonalds with a PlayPlace.
Not as charming, but the kids were happy.

Jenn from Frugal Upstate came over and let us ‘newbies’ ply her with questions.

It was the first, in-person discussion I’ve had with other women who knew exactly what I was trying to do.

I mean, how often can you ask the question “is it weird that I have a picture of my bathroom on the internet?” and have two women assure you it’s not.

That’s a rare bunch.

*** Okay, to all the male readers out there… I realize that I have to be much more conscientious about how I hold the baby while photos are being taken. Despite what this looks like, he was not screaming in pain because of my hand placement. He was just tired.

And I can prove that to you because this is what he looked like ten minutes later….

*Let me know if you’re a blogger in Upstate NY — we would be glad to have you join us for the next gathering!

Aww, it was so much fun meeting & talking with you (although I felt like I talked too much). Look at how cute your little sweetpea is all racked out in his carseat :)

Pshaw Jenn! hard to say you were talking too much when we kept pestering you with questions!

It was a fun lunch – I'll look forward to the next time! Maybe in C'town?!
